Free WordPress Plugin : Scroll To Top Plugin

If you have trouble with tuturial we’ve made and want to immediately apply scroll to top control on your wordpress site. Now we’ve made the plugin “Scroll To Top Plugin”.
Scroll to top is a button that hovers in the bottom right corner of your screen that allow users to smoothly scroll right to the top of page, making a website more user friendly.
Credits : Thanks to Dynamic Drive for this great script, we add plugin function so that more easy to use in wordpress.

Scroll the page down (at least 350 pixels) to see a “Scroll to Top” control appear at the lower right of the window.

Installation
- Download the plugin (see “Downloads” above).
- Decompress the .zip archive and put the scrolltotop folder into your plugins directory (/wp-content/plugins/).
- Activate the plugin in the WordPress Plugins admin page.
Questions (Q) and Answers (A)
- Q : How do I change the button image?
A : In your wordpress admin page > Settings > Scroll to Top, fill with url link the form “link to your to top button image”. - Q : How do I set the scroll speed?
A : Still in Scroll to Top settings page, fill the form “Scroll Speed (in milisecond)” with the number that you like (our default is 800 milisecond) - Q : How do I set the number of pixels the user’s scrollbar should be from the top of the page before revealing the control?
A : Still in Scroll to Top settings page, fill the form “The button appears after page scrolled down to line” with the number that you like (our default is 350 pixels).

Report Problem when installing on WP 2.8.4 via admin panel

yes, we’re currently having problem when uploading the plugin to wordpress.org
this cause the plugin cant be installed via admin panelyou can download the plugin from our site and there wont problem installing via admin panel
btw, i’ve seen your site and you already use the plugin

For some reason, this plugin does not work for my site (www.theorangepaper.com) when using the Internet Explorer browser. I even checked out the cmshype.com website who have installed your plugin (refer their comment above) even for their site I cannot see the ‘Top’ icon in Internet Explorer browser.
Any ideas?

Yes it’s very useful and very well written but a few problems concerning the packaging (RAR) and WP download. Nothing serious but can be confusing. I guess you were already celebrating the plugin when you decided to compact it
There were 2 rar one inside the other and the name of the plugin when decompacting was scroll-to-top-plugin which provoked some path error concerning the image folder. The default image could not be found.
Anyway I renamed the plugin and had to change a few things manually. Now I just downloaded the version on top of this article and it seems you’ve corrected the problem.
So just need to check the version available in the Worpdress Directory as it was until now the older version.One thing I tuned is the position of the arrow icon.
I found the icon to be in the extreme right bottom and a bit far away from the usual navigation we have with the mouse. So I slightly changed the default position:
from {offsetx:5, offsety:5}
to {offsetx:40, offsety:15}Thanks again for the great plugin!

yeah, this plugin is very usefull
before, i had created Joomla version of this plugin and i saw people liked it,
I thought wordpress users would liked it toothere’s difficulty uploading new version of the plugin to Wordpres directory
we’re not use to using svn program for uploading
but we’ll keep tryingbtw
wait for our next plugins

I only changed image, file encoding to UTF-8, because when I typed ALT in my language it was not supported

Please fix the plugin on Official WordPress Plugin repository. Currently its impossible to install it from the official repository coz you have by mistake uploaded the plugin as a zip file inside another zip file. Please fix the issue on the repository.
Also fix the version number of the plugin in the file. Its mentioned as v1.00 whereas it should be 1.0 only. This is causing the WordPress to show false plugin upgrade notices.

Hi,i want to know how do I translate your plugin in my lanugaue.I made file by Poedit and called it “scrollto-top_IR.po” but after searching for string and translating theme,it didnt make any differences.Is there any problem with the name of translating file?

How to disable the script control and enable the html one ?

Hi, very helpful plugin, but does not works with Firefox (with all updates), Chrome, Safari for windows. It work with IE9 and Opera for windows, thanks

however, i have created a mouseover/out animation for the plugin… just put the following code after the (and the init:function…):
